COMMENTS:

It just seems like yesterday, "On the road again"! Jeeze, about 2.5% of the trip done. Very relaxing ride along the Skyline Drive ($15 to hop on) which was in contrast to the freakin' frenzy on the Capital Beltway; speed limit on the Beltway: None, Skyline Drive: 35. Lots of bikers on the Skyline Drive including Nick and Karen Bertolini on the way back home. Afternoon thundershowers held off until I only had about another 30 miles to go so I ducked in to a restaurant and had a cup of coffee.

This year I have a new friend, a Garmin Zumo 450 GPS (Zumo). Works like a champ. It comes with software to load on the computer which allows you to plan a route and then upload to the GPS. I became so reliant on it that common sense went out the window when I was trying to find the turn to make for the motel. I think Zumo was testing me to see if I would be willing to drive to Nebraska and then turn around and come back. Maybe Zumo is Hal from Space Odyssey 2000. Ah well, that was the daily humor check in Waynesboro. The town folk have asked me to come back.

OK, I'm not going out on a limb this time. I ate dinner in a joint called T-Bone Jacks. I've never heard of one before but there is probably one on West Street.

Alrighty then, it's early Tuesday morning and I'm gonna load this thing to the web for the first time and see if it works.
